Amazonimations is a collaborative research project that brings together anthropologists, animators, artists and indigenous people living in the Amazon rainforest.

We are working together to produce animated films that are entirely scripted, narrated and illustrated by different generations of Matses, and through which they will tell their stories to the wider world.

During this project I ran workshops with groups of Matses on animation and storytelling. Together we made storyboards and recorded the voice over. I then animated the paintings that were made by indigenous artist Guillermo Pemen,  and edited the films.

Amazonimations is funded by the British Academy and the University of Bristol.
